North West Tasmania
North West Tasmania is a special part of Australia that is full of beautiful nature, forests, and beaches. You can explore the stunning Cradle Mountain, which is part of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. It’s a perfect place for hiking and seeing amazing views of mountains and lakes. If you love animals, you can visit the wildlife parks where you might see Tasmanian devils, wombats, and other native creatures. The town of Stanley is another great place to visit with its famous "The Nut" – a big hill that you can walk up for amazing views of the sea and the town.
The weather in North West Tasmania is cooler compared to other parts of Australia. In summer, from December to February, the weather is mild and comfortable. Daytime temperatures usually stay around 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F). This is a great time to explore the outdoors, hike, and visit the beaches. However, the weather can change quickly, so it's good to have a jacket with you, especially in the evening when it can be cooler.
In winter, from June to August, the weather is much colder. During the day, it’s around 8°C to 14°C (46°F to 57°F), and at night, it can drop close to freezing. It’s rare for it to snow in the lowlands, but you can see snow on the mountains. Winter is also the wettest season, with lots of rain, so bring a raincoat if you visit during this time.
The best time to visit North West Tasmania is in summer (December to February) or spring (September to November), when the weather is mild, and you can enjoy all the outdoor activities.
