Lake Burbury is a super cool place for kids and teens who love the outdoors. Just 15 minutes from Queenstown, it’s surrounded by a stunning wilderness that feels like stepping into another world. Whether you love fishing, boating, or just hanging out by the water, this lake is full of fun!
Here’s a fun fact: Lake Burbury isn’t a natural lake—it was built in the 1990s to help make hydroelectric power. It’s named after Stanley Burbury, Tasmania’s first Australian-born Governor. How amazing is that? Plus, it’s home to wild brown and rainbow trout, making it a hotspot for fishing enthusiasts!
