The south-east of South Australia is a wonderful place to visit, full of beautiful scenery and fun things to do. It includes areas like the Fleurieu Peninsula and Mount Gambier. The Fleurieu Peninsula is famous for its lovely beaches, great for swimming, surfing, and having picnics. You can also explore towns like Victor Harbor, where you might even see penguins and seals! The region has lots of farmland, so you can also see fields with crops like grapes, wheat, and potatoes growing.

Mount Gambier is a special place known for its Blue Lake, which changes color depending on the time of year! It’s a beautiful spot, surrounded by parks, gardens, and caves to explore. The area is full of natural wonders, like the Umpherston Sinkhole, which is a big hole in the ground that’s turned into a beautiful garden.

The weather in the south-east is cooler and wetter than other parts of South Australia. In summer, from December to February, the weather is warm but not too hot. Daytime temperatures usually stay around 25°C (77°F), which is perfect for outdoor adventures like visiting the beach or walking in the parks. Sometimes, there are thunderstorms that bring rain and cooler weather for a short time. The cool sea breeze helps keep the weather comfortable, especially near the coast.

In winter, from June to August, the weather is much cooler. The daytime temperature is usually around 15°C (59°F), which is great for enjoying a warm drink or going on a nature walk. It’s also the wettest time of the year, with more rain, which keeps the area green and fresh.

The weather in the south-east is mild with warm summers and cooler, wetter winters, making it a great place to visit all year round.
