Heysen Trail
Highlights
The Heysen Trail is one of Australia’s greatest hiking adventures and stretches a whopping 1,200 kilometres! Named after Sir Hans Heysen, a famous artist, this trail takes you through incredible places like the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, and the Flinders Ranges. Each section offers a new experience, from vineyards and forests to historic towns and dramatic mountain views.
You can join the trail at any point and hike a little or a lot—it’s up to you! Whether you're walking with friends or going on a family adventure, there’s something for everyone. Remember, the closer you are to Adelaide, the easier the trail. The further you go, the more challenging it gets, making it perfect for explorers of all levels.
Adult Supervision RecommendedIf you're tackling the tougher sections, especially in remote areas, an adult should be with you for safety.
