Birdsville
Birdsville is a small, exciting town in the middle of the Australian Outback, in Queensland. It’s famous for its unique location, near the Simpson Desert, and it’s a place where adventure awaits! People who visit Birdsville can experience the quiet beauty of the desert, with its wide, open spaces, red sand dunes, and amazing starry skies at night. The town has some fun events, like the Birdsville Races, where people come from all over to watch horse races in the desert. You can also explore nearby natural wonders, like the beautiful Diamantina River, and see wild camels, kangaroos, and other animals.
The weather in Birdsville is very hot and dry, especially in the summer. In summer, which is from December to February, the temperatures can get extremely high, often reaching over 40°C (104°F)! The air can be dry, and there’s not much rain, which makes it feel even hotter. Because of the hot weather, it’s important to drink plenty of water and stay cool in the shade.
