Dove Lake
Highlights
Dove Lake, at the base of Cradle Mountain, is a must-see for adventurers! The 6-kilometre walking track around the lake takes you through some of Tasmania’s most stunning scenery, including the mystical Ballroom Forest and ancient King Billy pines.
Fun fact: Dove Lake was carved by glaciers thousands of years ago! Along the walk, you might spot echidnas or even a platypus if you’re lucky. The track has epic views of Cradle Mountain, hidden beaches, and unique plants like buttongrass and sassafras trees.
Whether you’re hiking with friends or enjoying a family day out, Dove Lake is an unforgettable experience.
Adult Supervision RecommendedSome sections of the trail may be steep or slippery, so having an adult with you is important for safety.
