Discover & Get to Know

Witjira National Park

Highlights

Witjira National Park is like a hidden oasis in the middle of the desert! With over 120 natural hot springs bubbling up from deep underground, it's a place where you can relax in warm water surrounded by desert views and wildlife. The Dalhousie Springs, the biggest of them all, have been used by Aboriginal people for thousands of years as a cool spot to grab food and shelter. Imagine swimming in a hot spring, looking out at the vast desert landscape around you – it's an experience you won’t forget!

If you're lucky, you might visit after some rain when wildflowers bloom all over the desert, turning it into a colourful wonderland. The park is also home to some super rare fish that you can’t find anywhere else, like the Dalhousie hardyhead. It's a desert paradise waiting for you to explore!

Adult Supervision Recommended

Some of the springs are deep, and it's important to stay safe while swimming and exploring. Make sure to have an adult with you to keep you safe!
