Wilpena Pound

Highlights

Wilpena Pound is one of those places where you can feel like you're on another planet! It's a huge, natural rock basin surrounded by giant rock walls. The best part? You can explore it by hiking along awesome trails, getting up close to the rocks and seeing amazing views! The Pound is so big it’s like a giant natural amphitheatre, stretching 17 km long and 8 km wide. It's the kind of place where you feel small in the best possible way!

Did you know? The word 'Wilpena' means 'meeting place' in the local Adnyamathanha language, and this spot has been important to the local Aboriginal people for thousands of years. It’s a perfect place for taking photos, going on a hike, or just chilling out with friends. And if you want to stay longer, you can camp out under the stars or even book a spot at the resort!
