Ready for a wild adventure? Trephina Gorge Nature Park in the East MacDonnell Ranges is the perfect place to discover stunning landscapes and wildlife. The park is home to many different animals, like kangaroos and birds, so keep your eyes peeled for cool critters while you explore!

You can hike the short walking tracks that take you to wide views over the gorge and sandy creek beds. If you're feeling extra adventurous, the Trephina Ridge Top Walk connects with John Hayes Rockhole! You might even spot the giant Ghost Gum tree, the largest in Central Australia, standing tall and proud in the park.

Adult Supervision Recommended

Remember to stick close to your grown-ups during your adventure, especially when hiking in the gorge!

What You Need To know

Guidelines

  • Ensure you observe all safety signs, and be aware that whenever you are near water in the NT, there is a risk of crocs! Crocodile warning signs and Crocodile Management Zones are not found everywhere.
  • Wear suitable footwear and always ensure to bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements when exploring the Northern Territory.
  • Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food and water for your journey.
  • Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
  • Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
