The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is like an urban jungle right in the heart of the city! This 30-hectare garden wraps around Sydney Harbour, offering beautiful views and a variety of plants from all over the world. Did you know it was established in 1816 and is the oldest scientific institution in Australia? Explore the different gardens, including a rose garden and even one that celebrates the local Aboriginal history!

Every week, there are Aboriginal Heritage Tours where you can learn about the Cadigal people, the traditional owners of the land. You can also download a free app for a self-guided audio tour to learn more about the plants and animals that call the garden home.

Green

It’s really nice to visit the gardens for a stroll or even a break from walking. Sit and relax and soak up the views. Listen to the bats, watch the sunrise or sunset over the iconic harbour. What’s not to love?
