Porcupine Lookout
Highlights
Porcupine Lookout is an awesome spot where you can see far and wide! From the top, you’ll get amazing views of the town of Gunnedah and the Nandewar Ranges, which are over 100 kilometres away. You can also spot the Kelvin hills and the cool Kelvin State Forest. A special feature to look out for is 'Nobby's Rock,' which glows beautifully in the afternoon sun.
To the south, the view stretches over the Breeza and Pullaming plains, which look like a massive inland sea when they flood. How cool is that? Did you know the hill was named 'Bindea' by the Kamilaroi people, meaning 'the place where shrubs with leaves like porcupine quills grow'? It's a fun mix of nature, history, and adventure!
This lookout is perfect for a picnic and some incredible photos. It’s a peaceful spot where you can enjoy the beauty of nature and learn about its fascinating history!
