Nitmiluk National Park is an adventure paradise! You can hike through the incredible gorge system, paddle a canoe along the river, or even take a helicopter ride for amazing aerial views. The park is packed with natural beauty, from monsoon rainforests to hidden swimming spots.

If you’re up for a challenge, try the 62-kilometre Jatbula Trail – it’s a trek you’ll never forget. Don’t miss Leliyn (Edith Falls), another stunning part of the park that’s perfect for a swim or picnic.

Adult Supervision Recommended

Some areas have strong currents and remote trails. Always explore with an adult and follow safety advice from park rangers.

What You Need To know

Guidelines

Always do some research before heading out for your journey. Visit the parks website for up to date information on the current conditions. Ensure to check for any updates relating to any warnings that may be issued for the area, and check for the opening and closing times.
Ensure you observe all safety signs, and be aware that whenever you are near water in the NT, there is a risk of crocs! Crocodile warning signs and Crocodile Management Zones are not found everywhere.
Wear suitable footwear and always ensure to bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements when exploring the Northern Territory.
Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food and water for your journey.
Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
