Mount Wollumbin (Mount Warning)
Highlights
Wollumbin, meaning "cloud catcher" in the Bundjalung language, is a sacred site of great cultural importance to the Bundjalung Nation. Located in Wollumbin National Park, this iconic mountain is a place of spiritual education and initiation.
The summit track, while offering stunning views, is extremely difficult and dangerous in places. Visitors are asked to respect the wishes of Bundjalung Elders and avoid climbing the track, preserving its sanctity and protecting its delicate environment. Instead, enjoy spectacular photo opportunities of Wollumbin from nearby Border Ranges and Nightcap National Parks.
Adult Supervision RecommendedIf visiting the surrounding areas or trails, adult supervision is advised due to challenging terrain and potential weather hazards.
