Lucinda Jetty
Highlights
Lucinda Jetty is an engineering marvel and a must-visit for kids who love learning about cool structures! Located near Hinchinbrook Island, this jetty is the longest service jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, stretching an incredible 5.76 kilometres. Its length even follows the curve of the Earth—how amazing is that?
While you can't walk the main jetty, there’s a smaller one nearby that’s perfect for fishing. You might catch exciting fish like Spanish mackerel, giant trevally, or even a tiny marlin! Whether you’re fishing or just enjoying the views, Lucinda Jetty is a fun place to explore with friends or family.
Adult Supervision RecommendedIf you're fishing or near the water, make sure an adult is there to keep everyone safe.

What You Need To know
Guidelines
- Always do some research before heading out for your journey. Visit the parks website for up to date information on the current conditions. Ensure to check for any updates relating to any warnings that may be issued for the area, and check for the opening and closing times.
- Tropical North Queensland is crocodile country. Be croc-wise, particularly around water.
- Wear suitable footwear and ensure to bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements.
- Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
- Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
- Leave nothing but footprints. Take nothing but memories.
