Jatbula Trail - Nitmiluk National Park

Highlights

The Jatbula Trail is a legendary 62-kilometre trek through the stunning landscapes of Nitmiluk National Park. Follow the ancient route of the Jawoyn people, walking across sandstone plateaus, monsoon forests, and river valleys. Every night, you’ll camp near waterfalls or natural pools—how cool is that?

This trail is named after Peter Jatbula, a Jawoyn Traditional Owner who helped secure land rights for his people. Fun fact: The trail passes through some of Australia’s oldest landscapes, formed over millions of years. It’s a challenging adventure that rewards you with breathtaking views and a deep connection to nature.

Adult Supervision Recommended

The trail’s length and rugged terrain make it essential to have adults accompany kids for safety and preparation.
