Indian Ocean Drive is a scenic adventure that’s perfect for a road trip filled with exciting stops and stunning views! Starting in Yanchep, this 286-kilometre drive takes you along some of the most beautiful coastal spots in Western Australia. Think golden beaches, towering sand dunes, and national parks bursting with wildflowers during the spring.
On your journey, you can visit the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park, where ancient limestone formations rise out of the sand like something from another planet. Stop by Jurien Bay to see playful Australian sea lions or have a go at sandboarding in Lancelin. For science lovers, Lake Thetis features stromatolites—some of Earth’s earliest life forms!
Whether you're up for snorkelling, fishing, or simply enjoying the view, Indian Ocean Drive has something for everyone. It’s a fantastic way to explore Western Australia's Coral Coast while learning about its unique natural history.
