Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is a magical place to see Australian animals in their natural habitat. Located on Kangaroo Island, it’s home to koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, and over 40 species of birds. This is one of the best places to see wildlife up close while learning about the amazing creatures that live here.
Take a guided tour to spot animals like koalas lounging in trees or kangaroos hopping through the sanctuary. During nocturnal tours, you can even see animals that come out at night! The Koala Walk is a highlight, offering one of the best chances to see koalas in the wild.
Birdwatchers will love spotting colourful birds like blue wrens, lorikeets, and crimson rosellas. The sanctuary’s location also offers stunning views of the wilderness and turquoise waters of Hanson Bay.
Adult Supervision Recommended: The sanctuary is a natural habitat, so stick with your adults to stay safe while exploring!
