Hamelin Pool is like stepping back in time—way back! This unique spot in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area is home to stromatolites, the oldest living fossils on Earth. These incredible organisms have been growing for over 3,500 million years and are a living example of how life began on our planet.
Walk along the 200-metre boardwalk to see these ancient structures up close and learn how they formed from algae, sediment, and sand. It’s like discovering a living dinosaur! Interpretive signs explain the science and history, making it a fascinating experience for kids who love science and nature.
