Gordon Falls

Highlights

Gordon Falls is one of the coolest places to visit in the Blue Mountains! Imagine standing at a lookout, looking out over the mountains, and seeing a waterfall that drops 200 metres. That's right, 200 metres! The views of Mount Solitary and Kings Tableland are jaw-dropping, and you can see birds like peregrine falcons soaring high above the valley. If you're lucky, you might spot some lyrebirds foraging on the forest floor.

If you're into adventure, there are awesome walking tracks around the area where you can see even more cool wildlife. There's a fun playground nearby for you to run around and play, and the picnic area is perfect for a family lunch. Just remember, the lookout and cliffs can be dangerous, so make sure you stay safe!

Adult Supervision Recommended

The cliffs near the waterfall are steep and can be slippery. It's super important that an adult is with you to make sure you're safe while exploring and enjoying the views.

What You Need To know

Guidelines

  • Always do some research before heading out for your journey. Visit the parks website for the most up to date information.
  • Always enjoy waterfalls from trails and marked viewing points. Do not climb over barriers as cliff edges and slippery surfaces may cause injury or death.
  • Only swim where permitted. Don’t jump from cliff edges into water bodies.
  • Swimming near or under waterfalls can be dangerous due to strong currents, submerged hidden rock ledges and other dangers. The force of a waterfall can be incredibly strong and unfortunately, many people have drowned. Follow warning signs and take caution.
  • Ensure you observe all safety signs. Always stay on the marked tracks where possible. Never climb fences, they are there for your own safety.
  • Wear suitable footwear and always ensure to bring a hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the elements when exploring Australia.
  • Plan ahead and ensure to take enough food and water for your journey.
  • Please consider the environment, take your rubbish with you or place in the bins provided. We want to ensure these beautiful places are still here for our future generations to enjoy.
  • Parking, camping and national park fees may apply. See parks website for more details.
  • Please do not feed the wildlife.
