Glen Helen Gorge
Highlights
Glen Helen Gorge is a magical spot in the West MacDonnell Ranges where the Finke River cuts through towering red cliffs. It’s a great place to cool off in the permanent waterhole, surrounded by incredible scenery. The waterhole is also home to many fish and waterbirds, making it a special place for nature lovers.
Fun fact: The local Aboriginal people believe the waterhole is the home of a Rainbow Serpent, an important cultural symbol.
Adult Supervision RecommendedThe waterhole is deep, so swimming here should always be done with an adult.
