Discover & Get to Know

Fort Lytton National Park

Highlights

Fort Lytton National Park is a treasure trove of history! This coastal fortress, built in 1881, was Queensland’s main defence during times of invasion. Surrounded by a water-filled moat and hidden behind grassy embankments, the fort feels like something out of an adventure movie.

Take a guided tour to learn about its fascinating history, see restored guns that could fire and then disappear, and explore the museum for even more stories. After your tour, enjoy a picnic by the scenic Brisbane River. It’s a fun and educational day out!
