Cataract Gorge Reserve

Highlights

Cataract Gorge Reserve is an awesome spot for kids and teens, just a short distance from central Launceston. You’ll find walking trails, a swimming pool, and even the world’s longest single-span chairlift! Imagine gliding high above the Gorge with spectacular views all around.

Explore the First Basin, where you can swim or picnic with friends, and the Cliff Grounds, a beautiful garden full of exotic plants and peacocks strutting around. Don’t miss the suspension bridge—it’s a thrilling way to cross the Gorge. For history buffs, the Duck Reach Power Station upstream has cool exhibits about Tasmania’s past.

Whether you’re hiking, swimming, or enjoying a family barbecue, Cataract Gorge is packed with adventures!
