Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park

Highlights

Welcome to Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park, located on the southern coast of Kangaroo Island, just 40 km from Kingscote. This place is an explorer’s dream, with stunning wilderness, incredible coastal views, and heaps of wildlife to discover. The park has lots of walking trails like the Cape Gantheaume Coastal Trek, perfect for experienced hikers, or shorter trails at D’Estrees Bay, where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and learn about the island’s history, including its connection to the early whaling industry.

One of the coolest spots in the park is Murray Lagoon, which is home to many different species of birds. You might even spot some rare ones! The park also has a self-guided drive along D’Estrees Bay Road, where you can discover the area’s cultural significance. Make sure to check out the Osprey silhouettes along the drive, which mark key points of interest. It's the perfect place for a family day out or even a camping trip at D'Estrees Bay Campground!
