Discover & Get to Know

Camooweal Caves National Park

Highlights

Explore the serene beauty of Camooweal Caves National Park, a place of stunning grasslands, spinifex woodlands, and ancient dolomite caves. The caves, formed over 500 million years ago, feature deep sinkholes and intricate caverns, although they are not accessible to visitors. Short walking tracks lead to the cave entrances for incredible views.

This park is a haven for birdwatching, with seasonal waterbirds and woodland species adding to its charm. The peaceful Nowranie Waterhole camping area is perfect for a relaxing outback escape, surrounded by the natural beauty of Queensland's Barkly Tableland.

Adult Supervision Recommended

The edges of the sinkholes are dangerous, and extreme caution is needed when exploring the area.
