Ever seen a tree big enough to hold people? The Boab Prison Tree, near Derby, is a massive 1,500-year-old tree with a hollow centre. It was once used as a staging point for prisoners being transported to town, but now it’s a registered Aboriginal site and holds important cultural significance.
You can visit the tree and learn about its history from the interpretive signs nearby. Just remember to respect the area—don’t climb or touch the tree. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the past and a cool place for photos!
