Bardedjilidji Walk, Kakadu

Highlights

Bardedjilidji Walk is an exciting trail in Kakadu National Park that takes you through layered sandstone formations, wetlands, and monsoon forests. Along the 2.5-kilometre trail, you can discover caves that shelter bats and geckos and even spot black wallaroos in the early morning.

Fun fact: The sandstone here was once part of a sea that existed during the time of dinosaurs! The word “Bardedjilidji” means walking path in the local Aboriginal language, and this trail is filled with amazing habitats and hidden rock art.
